Paul O’Dette and Stephen Stubbs conduct the Boston Early Music Festival semi-staged production of the Handel pastoral opera Acis and Galatea, a courtly entertainment depicting a love affair between the nymph Galatea and the shepherd Acis.
Soloists: Teresa Wakim, Aaron Sheehan, Douglas Williams, Jason McStoots, and Zachary Wilder.
7 pm: Howard Serwer Memorial Lecture, sponsored by the American Handel Society: Professor David Hurley, author of the book Handel’s Muse, will present Once More with Feeling: Da Capo Patterns in Handel’s Oratorios, FREE
